Camillus, NY — The Canal Crossing Apartments at Township 5 in Camillus has begun taking lease applications with the first tenants targeted to move in on April 30, a company spokesman said.
The 96-unit complex sits to the rear of Township 5, a growing retail complex that includes a Costco, a Movie Tavern, smaller stores, medical offices and restaurants.
“Being close to all that brand new retail makes this property more attractive to renters,” said Kevin Morgan, vice president of Morgan Management, which is building the apartment complex. The company is also building apartments in Clay and Baldwinsville.
Canal Crossing has one and two-bedroom apartments, a pool and clubhouse with a fitness center. The complex is pet friendly. The apartments either have a patio or a balcony.
Rent for a one-bedroom apartment starts at $1,050 per month. A two-bedroom, two-bath apartment lease starts at $1,125 per month. Renters pay more if they have pets, Morgan said.
Morgan Management has been in the Syracuse market since 2006, and the company believes there is pent-up demand for new apartments here, he said.
