First CNY Costco to open in Camillus as development project moves forward
March 25, 2013
Camillus (WSYR-TV) – The first Costco store in Central New York will soon open.
According to developers, the long-awaited Township 5 project in Camillus is about to take a giant leap forward.
They say Township 5 in the town of Camillus should open by November 2013.
The wholesaler will be one of several national chains at the development, which will feature a mixture of stores and housing.
In addition to the Costco store, the center will have several national chain restaurants, a bowling alley, and an apartment complex featuring nearly 100 units.
Developers say the center will generate 500 to 600 permanent jobs, along with 400 to 500 construction jobs.
The project will move ahead with a 25-year Payment in Lieu of Taxes agreement that will include money dedicated to infrastructure in Camillus.
I would like to see a Kohl’s and a fabric store come to Township 5.
